Flashback!

I use a pencil at work, because I make a lot of mistakes. Mind you, not one of those fancy schmancy mechanical pencils. Nope, I use the old school kind we took our SATs with. I also like the sound of graphite on paper rather than metal slathered with ink.

My pencil broke for the first time since May! I didn't mind that it had worn down to a nubbin, but the tip just snapped clear off, and I don't have a sharpener. Neither does anyone in my office, apparently.

I had to go on a wild goose chase throughout Seegers, which led to the greater Muhlenberg campus, until I finally found one by breaking into one of the art classrooms in the CA.

How is it possible, that old fashioned pencils have gone so far out of style that I had to search for about 15 minutes to find one? I think it's sad.

The sharpener in the art room was one of the old school electric ones, you know, the ones that make awful grinding noises when you use it, and have the same wood paneling as 1990 Station Wagons?

Like this one:

And in elementary school, we used to put the pencils in eraser side first, because we were evil little ankle-biters.

Lesson learned: go buy a sharpener and possibly a pack of pencils
