if real life is like this i quit
I was in Seegers for a little under 12 hours straight, minus going to class for 2 and going to the mailroom to check on a package for about 15 minutes.
That is absurd.
That is absurd.
"I'm a neighbor of the College!"
So, at work last week, one of the workstudy kids came into my office hysterically laughing because of a phone call she got. Apparently, there was a little old man on the line asking about seminars in learning how to use a computer. He had just gotten one and wanted to learn "all the tricks" like how to "power it up and power it down!" and "how to use that e-mail and the internets."
He then explained he was a neighbor of Muhlenberg, which I guess means he lives in one of those sweet houses on the "good" side of Chew St.
What did we tell him? Well a) we wanted to run to his house and help him because he sounded so excited/desperate/on the verge of death, but our secretary said that probably wouldn't be a good idea.
We ended up putting a listing in the part-time job book... which no one ever checks. And we told him to check the bigger LVCC schools and the local community colleges, because they might have a support group for old people with computer problems.
I can't help but think about him right now banging at his computer like Hansel and Zoolander, wondering what all those strange buttons do.
In other news, searching for post-grad jobs is sucking real hard right about now, so is my snowed-in car.

i hate your big dumb combat boots
I've been trying to get through all my Blake readings for tomorrow, but all I want to do is watch 10 Things I Hate About You and mourn the loss of that sexy Oz. Bye bye Heathcliff.
